A new hobby for the long trip home In anticipation of my llloooooong drive from Colorado Springs to Oregon, I decided it was a good time to pick up a new hobby, so, I picked crochet. I used to knit when I was 10 or 11 and everyone said that crocheting is easier. So my friend Theresa taught me yesterday and I am HOOKED!! We went to Walmart yesterday and picked out some really soft blue yarn and a hook and we started on my little boys newest baby blanket. So far, I have to admit, I am pretty darn good at it. It still takes me a while, but right now, I have made about a 40 in. wide and 6 in. long blanket. I spend just about every chance I get working away at that thing and Joe's impressed with my determination and even the little amount of skill I am showing. I have to admit though, I would have been frustrated if I had been Theresa teaching me, but since she is used to teaching elementary aged students, it was probably somewhat similar. Poor, patient girl.....Anyway, I'm actually looking forward to all the time I will get to spend on my little blanket and hopefully I'll be able to start another one on my own when I don't have the patient guidance of my teacher.....believe it or not, I'm still having trouble with just the slip knot.....oh well, at least you only have to do that once. << . >>
