2002-12-18 . 1:02 p.m. . Fat gal in a little dress!! Well, I made it! I'm not sure if you remember, but I mentioned a while ago that Joe surprised me with an invitation to a formal "dining out" with his platoon for the "end of the class celebration" type thing. I was completely spazzing because I wasn't exactly sure what in the world I was going to do about fitting myself into a formal dress and feeling ok with it. I, for one, didn't want to go out and buy a dress that I may never wear again...or at least never hope I can fit into again, UNLESS I happen to be pregnant. Anyway, my sis is getting married next week and my mom sent me my bridesmaid dress. It is two piece, champaigne(SP?) colored, velvet, with three-quarter length sleeves. Really pretty, HUGE, but pretty. It fit ok in the waist, especially since I knew I would be expanding through there, but the hips needed to be taken in at least 5 inches!!, not even kidding. So, I had it taken in and it fit pretty well. I was impressed with it and I didn't look fat. (Joe even said I looked "ravishing"....WOW!) Anyway, I did my hair like my wonderful friend Liz did for my wedding and for not being a "beauty" type person, I did a pretty darn good job. Joe was way impressed. I put it up in a pony tail and took little pieces into curlers and arranged the curls in a little bun of curls on top of my ponytail, with my bangs sweeping across my face. I was impressed, I have to say. For not being able to see the back of my head, it turned out pretty good. I will never try to duplicate that though, because I know it was strictly luck and grace. So, I was a little worried, since I felt as if my belly had gotten a little more round since I had last tried it on. I was afraid it would suddenly not fit. Well, those were pipe dreams, (I really hadn't grown that much), it fit great and other than a slightly rounded belly, no one could tell I was even pregnant. At the table with Joe and all his platoon, I was completely spoiled. Everyone took pitty on the pregnant lady and I got firsts and extras of everything, it was so great. I think guys are total suckers for pregnant women, I am milking it!! :) So, the night turned out great. The food was really good and not fattening at all. We had a great time! So, things are winding down around here. We are getting the final things finished with before we leave. Joe and I ran errands all day and got tons accomplished. I love lists, just because when I cross things off, I feel like I am getting lots done....just a wierd little quirk of mine. So, we'll be out of here in two days and then it's off for fun, fun family time. It'll be so great to see my family. Being all the way over here makes the distance that much tougher to handle than I think it'll be in Colorado. Then at least we are only a couple states away instead of an entire continent!! So, this may be one of the last entries for a while, but I'll check in once in a while until we get to Colorado Springs! Happy Holidays All!! ~Babydays
